Abstract

The modern business of industrial organizations implies new approaches to team performance management that help in the development and implementation of new programs and new projects. Research shows that in practice there are many alternative approaches and principles that mark the difference between team failure and business success. Synthesizing science and practice lead to a set of principles that represent an approach to sustainable team performance management and an effective process management philosophy of the organization’s team. This paper provides the basics of successful approaches to team organization and their performance that bring relevant indicators for the management of industrial companies. It is a business strategy to achieve market improvements and business sustainability in the long run. Every successful organization uses team performance measurement to improve business performance and achieve multiple strategic goals in continuity. Successful teams never lose sight of strategic performance goals. The goal is for managers to realize that measurable team performance results are needed to demonstrate success and for a successful combination of important criteria, such as reducing unprofitable work, constantly encouraging the team to increase revenue and market share, ensuring long-term survival, continuous improvement of team performance, development and implementation of new products and services, etc. In industrial companies, it is of special importance to realize quality management of efficient team performance in the production process, through a continuous process, and not just as a short-term event. Flexible approaches to team performance management involve the implementation of major processes that identify all important factors in organizational systems, starting from the factors of the internal and external environment, as well as material and human factors.
